Children as our biggest treasure deserve the right to a quality education and an opportunity to be successful in life. That can only be accomplished by instilling the right values in them from the young age, leading them to the right path and showing them how important education is. Teach for America improves and nourishes Americaââ¬â¢s most valuable asset ââ¬â the children. It provides leadership in the low-income school communicates that need quality education for the children who are less fortunate, and lack funds and opportunities. At this point, Teach For America has offices supporting teachers and alumni in 39 geographic regions in 31 states and Washington, D.C. Each region has an executive director and program staff, and most also have development staff and local advisory boards. In 2001, it secured more then $20 million and named one of the five organizations Lady Laura Bush. TFA is among the nations largest providers of Afric an American and Latino teachers. 55% of the corps comes from low-income communities. They believe that educators who come from low-income communities and share backgrounds of the students have potential for profound additional impact. Thatââ¬â¢s why diversifying is important in this organization. Often, TFA strives to accommodate requests from teachers who want to work in their hometowns and communities where they were once students.
